I was playing Disgaea 2 : Cursed Memories for PS2, and I noticed some game KOEI was promoting at the back of the manual and it was Atelier Iris 3 : Grand Phantasm.
It was released in May 29, 2007 for PS2. I gave it a try and it was good, I should say. The game play was like Summon Night for GBA. It had the common battle features, attack, skill, item, guard and flee. At first you start with Iris, who is one of the few remaining alchemists and Edge, who lost his family when he was young and partnered up with Iris as a ranger, who takes requests for the guild for money (yeah... very familiar). Aside from that, the game doesn't have any cliche compared from the other games. No "something happened and got to save the world". Though you still have the common weapons and elements.
I don't know if it's just me, the font size within the game is just too small, unless you really have a big TV. And as you progress through the game you will be partnered with Nell Ellis who is on a quest to restore her family's wealth. The soundtrack is good and you can switch dubs from English to Japanese. The background graphics are amazing though the character were still retained in 2D from. All in all, the game is a good experience if you are a fan of RPG's and if not, I would definitely tell you to try this game.
